Montane’s Valen 40 + 5L is a minimalist backpack built for climbers. Ideal for gear-heavy days, you can increase capacity from 40 to 45 litres by extending the main compartment gusset. Usually secured via a roll-top closure, you can use the drawcord to keep items secure when fully expanded. The back panel and harness feature body-formed foam and snow-shedding fabrics for year-round comfort and performance. A central aluminium stay increases support and is removable to save grams. The shoulder straps include load lifters and an adjustable sternum strap for a secure fit. The hip belt has a gear loop on the left side. On the right side is a removable and repositionable zipped pouch. Ideal for small items, you can also attach it to the webbing strap inside the main compartment for adaptable storage.
